What is Qi 气 (Chi) ?

Qi (Chi) is the energy of life. Qi is what animates our body and moves the stars in the cosmos. Everyone has Qi, in his body, without Qi we would be death. If the body is left behind at the moment of death, the fully formed spirit will emerge as pure Qi and unite with the energy of the cosmos, but that itself is there even if it is not. Live with nature, keep Yin and Yang in balance.

Zhuangzi (Chuang Tse) saw form or substance as merely the condensation of Qi. Life and matter are condensations of Qi. Emptiness is qi as well as non-emptiness.

In the diluted state, Qi becomes unlimited potentiality. It expands in time and space and fills all dimensions, animating the world and turning the great wheel of change.

China

Qi Gong (Chi Kung) - working with energy - originated in China.

and also in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) this knowledge is used already stand' s.

So this energy is used in every physical exercise, treatment, everyday life and in the Gong Fu (Kung Fu) styles... The best example is the Shaolin monks, where most people know what I mean and have an idea of what it means to use this energy. Less known and also very interesting are the Daoist monks who often lived hidden in the mountains as well as individually as hermits.

The Yellow Emperor was here also a great cornerstone as the Yi Jing (I Ching).

India

In India this energy is called Prana and is used in Yoga and Ayurvedic medicine.

Europe

Here it was used in alchemy and defined as ether.
